Metaverse This, Metaverse That
You’ve no doubtfully heard about the metaverse by now. The tech sector’s master plan is to connect the world through VR headsets and bring real-life experiences to our everyday online interactions. We’re on the horizon of Web 3.0 and what the next generation of technology could look like for society. Let’s take a recap at the headlines this week:
Decentralized organization ApeDAO launched ApeCoin last week as a token for culture, gaming, and commerce to build out Web3 efforts.
Back to Index Funds
A few posts ago, I mentioned how I’m switching my investing strategy to think long-term rather than quick wins. Time always wins.
As a result, I’ve been splitting my discretionary remaining monthly income in a 90/10 split due to saving for my upcoming wedding. Within the 10%, I’ve been placing buys within the following tickers:
VERS
METV
SPHD
What Each ETF Does
VERSE
Let’s start with VERS. This one debuted earlier this month and the official title is the ProShares Metaverse ETF. Essentially combining top Metaverse stocks like Apple, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and other major tech companies focused on expanding into the Metaverse. When I saw this ETF become public, my eyes turned starry with hope for the future. Read more here about the fund details.
METV
This one is like VERS. METV was the first metaverse ETF on the market and was released last year. The fund is managed Roundhill Ball and tracks companies related to the metaverse similar to the above but contains slightly more risk from potential players in the future. I’m not selling any of my METV shares anytime soon but I’m also halting on buying with VERS on the exchange now.
SPHD
SPHD has been with me through the toughest times. Anytime I have spare dollars, I throw it into SPHD. This ETF stands for Invesco S&P 500 High Div Low Volatility ETF. This one is a set it and forget it type of ETF with the primary focus of maximizing dividend income. I love watching the dividend compound in this one and providing me returns on a regular basis.
The Future
I’m betting on the multiverse for the next ten years. It seems that the tech sector is focused on making the idea come to fruition and revolutionizing the way we communicate with each other. As with any type of investment, please assess your risk tolerance with investing.
Take care,
